Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 September 2026

Expenderino ("the app", "we") is a personal expense tracker. This policy explains what data the app handles. The short version: your financial data stays on your device and in your own iCloud — we do not run servers that store it, and we do not track you or sell data.

Data stored on your device

Your transactions, categories, tags, budgets, and notes are stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud, this data syncs through your own iCloud account (Apple CloudKit), which is controlled by your Apple ID and is not accessible to us. We have no account system and no server that receives or stores your financial records.

AI category suggestions (optional, off by default)

If you turn on "Use Claude for Categories" and tap Suggest, the app sends a list of merchant names and your category names to Anthropic (anthropic.com), via a Cloudflare relay, solely to generate keyword suggestions that are returned to your device. We never send transaction amounts, dates, notes, account numbers, or any identifier that links the data to you. This feature is disabled by default and nothing is sent until you explicitly use it.

Importing statements

Files you import (CSV, PDF, camt, MT940, OFX) and photos you scan are processed entirely on your device. Scanned-statement text recognition uses Apple's on-device Vision framework; images and their contents are not uploaded anywhere.

Face ID / Touch ID

If you enable the app lock, authentication is handled by iOS. Biometric data never leaves your device and is never available to the app.

Location (optional)

If you choose to attach a location to a transaction, those coordinates are stored with that transaction on your device and in your iCloud only. The app does not track your location in the background.

Purchases

Any subscription is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details.

Analytics, tracking, advertising

None. The app contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites.

Deleting your data

You can delete transactions in the app at any time, or clear all data from Settings → Data. Deleting the app removes its local data from your device; data synced to iCloud can be removed from your device's iCloud settings.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
